What is a backup battery? Vans do not have backup batteries.

What is a UPS battery? As in a computer UPS?

We just need to understand terms here and understand what you are trying to do.

I assume you would do that so if something bad happened and killed the main batteries and starting battery you could still get the van started to recharge or go get it fixed?


Easy way to do that would be to carry a small portable battery powered vehicle jump pack.
