Simple things first. Make sure you have over a 1/4 tank of gas in your van. Also check the oil level in the generator. It has a dipstick.

Good luck.

What generator?
What van?
Custom conversion or factory built.

We want to help but we need more information.

I concur, VIP.

And the Spark Plug condition at the Gap/Electrode & the seating of the Cap.

Also try starting the Generator when the Chassis Engine has been running for 15 minutes - sometimes the Generator & older batteries need all the help it can get juice wise if it hasn't been running.

Plus some people have suggested, that there can be a vacuum issue if it's been sitting for a while.

Also check that the fuse is firmly planted in its Receptacle.

Worse case scenario; you have to take it to a Onan Generator specialist or do what I do, take it to a Lawnmower shop, 1/3rd of the price, same engine.
