Ha, my turn - after a few months dry, pump wouldn't prime

The Pleasure Way used 2093-204-114 which is outmoded

PW suggested 4008-101-E65 as a replacement

with pump loosened from wall I removed the top and found the check valve was a little sticky from mineral deposits. this is in the plastic "lid" and is pushed up to free it.

put top back on- pump quickly primed with a short hose stuck into a jug of water.

reattached hose from tank and all good

So fixed

Thinking maybe Ill order a spare pump - $65

Ha, thanks for sharing! Glad you were able to fix it. When there is nothing else to do, I will spend some time with the defunct pump (same model as they recommended as replacement) and see if I can get it to suck air again. It's still very new so maybe just something like a leaky check valve too.

The new Shurflo pump has been working alright, however, it does that weird stuttering thing at the end. Not a big deal, just slightly annoying.

So it turns on until pressure is reached, and as it switches off, it quickly turns on-off-on-off etc as if it isn't quite sure. This sounds bad and makes the lights flicker.

Anyone know if this is something that can be easily fixed by adjusting that adjustment screw maybe?

it sounds as if the switch ( controlled by the regulator) is cycling- ( just a guess). I would try adjusting the pressure regulator - mark the present position first.
clockwise is higher pressure, counter clockwise is lower.
I find in my van that the pressure is always higher than i need at any of the taps, so I'd go for slightly less pressure

Thank you, I'll try this next time the tank is filled. 💦

I've had that issue since installing the noise reduction extension hoses. Is seems I should have paid more attention to high points and routing. It would seem that there is a place for an air bubble to develop on my install on the pressure side of the pump. Running several faucets at the same time for a bit seems to reduce/eliminate it. Air can be introduced by using the city water hook up for filling instead of the gravity fill.

On TDY in Colquitt, GA on my way home.

Good tips Mike.
A while back we got caught with a nonworking pump while camping.
I foolishly forgot to check water pump operation before we left. Ended up using the freshwater drain as a faucet.

In trying to prime the pump I didn’t have an appropriate hose so I ended up bench priming it. Using a hose in a bucket is definitely the quickest way to go
Fortunately the pump is easily accessible on my 2012 RT.

Letting the pump run to fill the hot water tank and then priming the pump has since been added to my long pre-trip checklist
