It all depends of the type kind of road you are driving on. I use my RV to reach and sleep at my fishing spots that are sometimes as far as 90k deep in forest road where no one can help me. I feel a lot more secure having a real spare of the right dimensions with me. Just for the info, I moved my back tire carrier to the front ( see my picture album, on page 8 of the picture directory under the name Soyouz9) The load on the back door is not an issue as the door rest on a sliding piece of polymere (OEM) if you plan to put a cargo box. I've had this setup since 2016 without any issue but I mounted my box on a aluminium frame bolted to the hinges ( see other album cargo box)

Uumm, I don't think they make a tire that will go 90k deep and I assume back out.

I do not want to start an argument, but the Michelin Defender LXT tires , althought they are not AT, have served me pretty well on most gravel roads.

No argument. You said "90k deep". That mean also have to return and that means a total of 180k, or in other words 180,000. I had Michelin Defender LXT tires. I believe they are rated for 70,000 miles.

K stands for kilometers. In the United States it stands for thousands since kilometers are not used. Didn't you catch the ?

I've driven on those Michelins close to that distance nearly 174 kilometers (108 miles) on gravel roads (Top of the World Highway) from Chicken, AK to Dawson City, YT without a spare tire. Fool Hardy, I know. But worth it as you will never experience a road anywhere as spectacular. It did knock out the regulator and sprung a leak on my propane.

Very cool! I'm attaching your pics for anyone who wants to see, but is too lazy to click through the photo albums. Haha!

I see that you've also mounted a wire to act as a "pass/no pass" indicator. I was thinking of making something similar for mine. I've already had to replace tha AC cover once because of the previous owner's mistake.
