Default TWO ROOF VENTS on 2005 Pleasure Way Plateau

Our new-to-us RV has two white plastic vent pipes on the roof just above where the shower and head is but they do not have an type of cap! Is there supposed to be a cap? Wouldn't the rain just inundate the wet head IF they are Not capped? All new questions from a first time rv owner. Please enlighten me!

I have one above head and one above kitchen sink. They're just tubes sticking out of the roof with no caps. Have never had any rain issues. These tubes vent the grey/black tanks so any water entering would go directly to the tanks and not into the interior.

I do plan to add caps........have em.......haven't done it yet.

I have a different model than yours, but I have uncapped vents on my roof. Except I put a small section of window screen over them that I zip-tied in place to prevent bugs or tiny critters from entering.

if you have tank odor issues, the Lippert 360 vent cap will help with that, it has integral screen.
other wise I do suggest adding a screen
( mud dauber wasps are a really issue here in the genny exhaust and the furnace vents)

my PW Lexor has just one vent for the head coming through the roof.

And don't forget the water heater. Those suckers left a potato-sized nest in the combustion chamber of my class b when it was with it's previous owner. Hard to get out, but I eventually got the water heater chamber clear. Added the stainless steel mesh screens to water heater door and furnace openings to prevent furture surprises.

I never had a vent cap on my 2005 Pleasure-way Plateau I bought new so it came that way. Never had an issue with odors or nesting from varmints and If you don't either I would not worry about it after all these years. Rain water just goes in your waste tanks and is not much.

Yes, it is very common practice to put caps on today.
