Default "No Temp Sensor"

When I attempt to turn on my A/C unit, the screen says, "No Temp Sensor" so, of course, the A/C unit has no way of knowing if it needs to come on or not. Where do I look to fix this?

What make and model is your van? FWIW, on my 2004 Sprinter, the temperature sensor is mounted inside the front bumper.

It's a 2018 Winnebago ERA 170X. However, as the A/C unit for the coach needs to sense internal temp in the coach, I don't think the outside temperature is pertinent, is it?

Got it. For some reason, I assumed the dash air unit. My mistake. What make and model roof A/C?

Coach air is Coleman Mach IV. I have purchased the SoftStartRV product in the hopes that maybe my unit's failure to start on generator, even when temp sensor was fine, may be due to the initial AMP surge upon starting. In any case, the SoftStartRV seems like a smart idea. And now, no wire cutting involved.

There appears to be a temp sensor that shuts off the compressor in the event of a freeze-up. Any chance you knocked a wire loose somewhere when you added the capacitor?

I haven’t done the install yet so I wouldn’t have hit any wires.

Hopefully, someone with a unit like yours can chime in.

Just look for the install manual online, find the temp sensor in the diagrams, find it in your unit, disconnect it then reconnect it. If that doesn’t fix it replace the sensor. If that doesn’t fix it then call Coleman.
