Default Roof Paint .. How about a wrap instead?

Hi
Our (like many) Roadtrek 210 Pouplar's roof paint is peeling.
I have not had very much luck in finding a person/place to paint the van. Our go to guy can not fit it in his bays
So, because all we really want to do is to protect the fiberglass i'm wondering if I could just find someone to put a wrap on the top instead of having it painted???
Crazy idea?
Thanks in advance for any help

I considered doing a wrap. Even had one place give me a quote ($900). Another wrap place said don't do it; will only last a few years and then removing will be a mess. Local shop repainted roof for $1000. Check around and see if you can get it done for about that price.

Wow, that's good money if you can get it. Having DIY'd our Class B's roof, I would almost consider working for that. Details here.

Anyway, there's a legit debate to be had regarding which exact products are best for re-coating jobs. If you do proceed with either a wrap or painting, please post back what products you or your contractors used. Thanks.

We had a Maaco shop repaint our entire 200 for $2000. We went with the simplest possible job: single color, pinstriping etc not replaced.

Tip: Don't use the chassis (cab) color! Applied to the whole van the thing looks like a stark white rolling iceberg.

I would try to match the off-white or ivory color of the gel coat.

The issue becomes that a color change is much more expensive due to prepping and painting door jambs, under hood, etc. They are all time consuming areas. I would keep the basements a diff color though and maybe consider some canned graphics to break up the white.
